   Sub:-  Implementation of Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax(ACES) - reg.

                       

                       

            Attention of the Trade and Industry is invited on the above mentioned subject.

 

2.         The Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax (ACES) project, which is a Mission Mode project of the Government of India under the National e-governance plan, has been rolled out on pilot basis in several Commissionerates. The same is likely to be implemented in this Commissionerate also in near future.

 

3.         In order to familiarize the assessees with the ACES application, some useful documents have been hosted by the Directorate General of Systems & Data Management, Customs & Central Excise, at the website, http://www.aces.gov.in namely LMS (Learning Management Software), a self-learning on-line tutorial for assessees, a brochure delineating the features and benefits of   ACES, User’s manual on different modules and FAQ’s on ACES. The assessees are requested to visit the website for more information and for self-training on the ACES application for successful implementation of the project.

 

4.         In order to sensitise the assessees about the new application and to help the assessees learn the application of ACES, Shri G. N. IDNANI (Supdt. Computer), has been appointed as the nodal officer of the Central Excise, Mumbai – III. In case the assessee falling under the jurisdiction of this Commissionerate requires any assistance in the matter, they are requested to contact Shri G. N. IDNANI Supdt. Computer, (contact No. 25823686) of this Commissionerate for necessary guidance.

 

5.         All the Trade Associations are requested to bring the contents of this trade notice to the notice of their members in particular and the trade in general.
