Sub : Extension of Banking hours for deposit of Central Excise Duties on 

         31.03.2006 of   Central Excise Mumbai III Commissionerate – reg.

 

 Attention of the Trade and Industry is invited that the monthly duty liability in respect of Central Excise duty and Service tax for the month of March, 2006, is to be paid by 31st March 2006 itself by the manufacturers and service providers respectively as per the provisions of the Central Excise Rules, 2002 and Service Tax Rules 1994.

 

            The Reserve Bank of India has issued an instruction to all the concerned banks to suitably extend the banking hours of their branches authorised to conduct Government business by keeping the counters open on 31st March, 2006 to meet the rush of the assessees for payment of taxes. A copy of the said instructions is enclosed herewith for ready reference.

          

All Trade Associations are requested to bring the contents of this Trade Notice to the notice of their member manufacturers in particular and trade in general.
