TRADE NOTICE NO.     1 /C.EX/M.III/2011 DATED    28th Feb.2011

 

        Sub: Implementation of “SEVOTTAM” in Mumbai III Commissionerate.

           

            It is brought to the notice of the Trade and Industry that Mumbai III Commissionerate will be implementing Sevottam Phase-II.  Project “SEVOTTAM” is for creating delivery capability.  Further SEVA + UTTAM means Service + Excellence. Project “SEVOTTAM”s aim is to enhance customer satisfaction, provide effective and efficient service, continually improve its services and service delivery processes by encouraging, facilitating and assisting the existing and potential assessee’s to voluntarily discharge their tax obligations and provide the services required in meeting their obligations.

 

            It is further informed that for the Sevottam Project a Centralized inward section situated on 3rd floor, Vardaan Trade Centre, Wagle Estate, Thane has been set up for Headquarters and has started functioning from 15th Sept., 2010 onwards.  Also for the convenience of the trade and industry facility of suggestion/feeback box alongwith suggestions and feedback forms has been provided for receiving their pro-active feedback and suggestions. It is also informed that Commissioner, Central Excise, Mumbai III is the Public Grievance Officer(PGO) for this Commissionerate.

 

            Further as per the Citizens Charter for Central Excise and Service Norms have been given and the under mentioned 6 service norms will be met by this Commissionerate.

01.  Acknowledgement Communications-7 working days

02.  Convey Decisions-15 working days.

03.  Dispose of refund/rebate claim-3 months

04.  Give advance intimation before undertaking the audit of assessee’s records-15 days

05.  Release of seized documents-30 working days if the documents are not required by Department.

06.  Acknowledge complaints- 48 hours and provide final replies within 30 working days.

 

All the Trade Associations are requested to bring the above contents to the notice of their members in particular and the trade in general.
